OVERVIEW 

Purpose: This first Toronto Educational Summit on Learning Analytics in Med Ed (TESLA) welcomes individuals interested in questions of research and implementation of learning analytics tools in medical education.  It is aimed at building a broad community of interest in Learning Analytics including program directors and administrators in postgraduate, undergraduate med ed and CPD, as well as researchers in education and data science.

 

Learning Objectives:

 

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be better able to:

Describe the use of learning analytics in medical education, and be able to provide examples from undergraduate and postgraduate medical education

 

Describe the key steps in creating a learning analytics implementation and understand required resources for development

 

Apply a learning analytics framework to educational issues in your particular context

DETAILS

Through a series of large and small group sessions, this 1 day summit will explore Learning Analytics data sources, the use of Learning Analytics in medical education, data stewardship, as well as privacy and ethical issues as they relate to the audience’s education context.
