Matthew Sibbald MD PhD MHPE FRCPC 

Matthew Sibbald is Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, McMaster University, and an Interventional Cardiologist at Hamilton Health Sciences. He graduated from University of Toronto medical school in 2004 and completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Toronto.  He completed a two year fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University Health Network.

He is currently Program Director for the Cardiology Training Program and Director,  Centre for Simulation-Based Learning, McMaster University.     

 

In 2013, he received a PhD in Health Professions Education from Maastricht University after completing a Masters Degree from the same institution. Dr Sibbald’s main research interests lie in medical education, exploring cognitive processes in diagnostic decision making.  His work has been widely published in medical education journals and presented at national and international conferences.
