Scholarship
Scholarship is valued as a means for promoting and disseminating the innovative educational programs developed at the centre, as well as promoting excellence
Historically the Centre focused its scholarship around three main areas: Simulation-Based Medical Education, Education in Quality Improvement, and the Art of Medicine and Medical Humanities. It expanded to include New and Emerging Areas of Interest in Medical Education, to explore the use and benefit of new educational tools, data technology, and their potential impact on trainee learning and assessment. Many innovative research and education activities grew from these areas, and work has been disseminated widely through presentation and publication in peer reviewed journals.
The Centre has continued to evolve and explore new directions, as well as evaluate its strategic course. In 2024 the Centre realign its activities in educational development and continued development in GIM. The current pillar structure includes Education in Quality Improvement, Education Research, Art of Medicine and Medical Humanities, Curriculum Development, and New Models of Care.
